Base Editing Models

Point mutations or single nucleotide changes can have untoward effects on the protein structure and functions. Mutations in tumor suppressor genes are strongly associated with carcinogenesis. Thus the study of these mutations/SNPs is crucial for the understanding of molecular mechanisms of the disease, drug discovery, and testing efficacy of a drug. At TME, we use base editing methodology to make precise nucleotide alterations that can result in 1 or 2 amino acid changes in the gene of interest without any double-stranded DNA breaks. Highly customized mice carrying a point mutation in one or more genes can be quickly generated using this technology to meet your experimental needs.
