A knockin cell model is engineered to express an exogenous gene of interest from an endogenous genomic locus. The model is engineered such that the ectopic gene is under the regulation of the native promoter thus maintaining the physiological relevance. These cell models are valuable for gene expression monitoring, cellular response monitoring, and readout for drug screening.
