Toxicity (safety) is one of the important reasons for terminating a new drug during development. Toxicokinetics studies are designed to assess the in-vivo toxic doses and the relationship between the toxic dose and its toxic effects. It is crucial for the safety evaluation of the drug. The purpose of the study is to identify the possible toxic target organs and toxic reactions, predict human safety dosing, and provide reliable toxicokinetic (TK) evidence for later clinical trials.
